What came first?
Dorfromantik started out as a digital video game, developed by four students from Berlin. The boardgames came later, created in collaboration between Toukana Interactive and Pegasus Spiele out of a shared wish to bring the relaxing Dorfromantik experience to the living room table. The original boardgame went on to win the prestigious “Game of the Year” award in 2023, followed by further editions with different themes and play experiences.
Dorfromantik - The Board Game
Original campaign-driven tile-placement game
In Dorfromantik – The Board Game, up to six players use hexagonal tiles to form a beautiful landscape together and try to fulfill the wishes of its population. During the replayable campaign, new tiles can be unlocked with the points scored in earlier games. They provide the players with new, additional tasks and make it possible to keep increasing the high score in this cooperative game.
Dorfromantik - The Duel
Each player builds their own landscape with identical tiles
Dorfromantik – The Duel maintains the core mechanisms of the original game, but splits the play area in two. During the game, players will build two separate landscapes using two identical copies of each tile as it is revealed. By game end, two beautiful landscapes will have been created that will differ depending on how each player (or team) approached the strategic challenge.
Dorfromantik - Sakura
Themed around Japan (cherry blossom, rice fields)
With Dorfromantik - Sakura, cherry blossoms bring a completely new element of gameplay to your landscape designs. The goal once again is to work together to create beautiful landscapes using hexagonal tiles, this time in the stunning countryside of Japan. Players will collect valuable points as they work towards unlocking more than 40 new achievements found in 6 secret boxes.
Dorfromantik - Light Luggage
Smaller tiles, shorter play time, magnetic box for portability
Whether travelling, on a picnic or during a lunch break, Dorfromantik – Light Luggage is the ideal companion when you are on the go. Its magnetic box is packed with a new, stand-alone campaign, offering fun in a compact format! A perfect introduction to the world of Dorfromantik, while also bringing new challenges to experienced players.
Dorfromantik - South Seas
Set in a tropical island paradise (mangroves, colorful fish)
In Dorfromantik – South Seas, you embark on a standalone campaign set in an idyllic island paradise, with mangroves, colorful schools of fish, and new gameplay mechanics to discover. Travel from island to island and unlock further achievements.
This new boardgame edition launches in October 2026 and will initially be available in German, with an English version to follow later.
Dorfromantik - Head to Head
A drafting game: first build your stack, then your landscape
Dorfromantik – Head to Head is a fast-paced two-player drafting game. First, you take turns choosing landscape and task tiles to create your own personal stacks. Then, both players build their landscapes using the familiar Dorfromantik rules.
This new boardgame edition launches in October 2026 and will initially be available in German, with an English version to follow later.
